One of the first things to be done, in my opinion, is to help first time buyers. We own most of the banks…surely we can force them to accomodate first timers, this should lead to an expansion of sales in the market for all of us.

Hi
Yes banks should help further however this is only part of the problem. The other main issue is the FEAR buyers have of buying a home when they dont know when the housing market has bottomed out. These same buyers who would have purchased the same home a couple of years ago at a much higher cost are now living in FEAR of paying to much. The TRUTH is nobody knows when the market hits the Top or Bottom. We only know after the event although, what i can say is people who purchase at a sensible price now will greatly enhance their chances of having long term success.
My opinion is that Estate Agents need to educate potential buyers and sellers into sensible pricing and along with an Agent who uses Powerful Marketing Techniques will dramatically improve sales. We all have to educate to keep people moving!
